The Lord Mayor's Visit 2006
Every year the Lord Mayor or Deputy Lord Mayor makes a visit to Freemen's Holt to see the estate and to meet the Deputies.

During September 2006, The Lord Mayor Councillor Paul Westley with the Lady Mayoress Miss Annette Westley visited Mrs Kay Lester in her bungalow at Freemen's Holt.

The Lord Mayor relaxed for a while during the tour and chatted with Roy and Iris Cave who were celebrating their wedding anniversary.

We were fortunate with the weather enjoying a warm sunny afternoon after quite a showery morning. The Lord and Lady Mayoress were very impressed with the estate and enjoyed meeting Jim and Mavis Manship.

During the tour of the estate some of the Deputies and their wives accompany the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress to provide details of the history of the Freemen of Leicester and the background to the Holt.
The above photograph shows (from the right), Valerie Porter and Christine Lewitt with their husbands Roger Porter and Jeffrey Lewitt. Both Deputies have previously been Chairmen of various committees and Chairmen of the Board of Deputies.

A light tea with the Chairman and the Board of Deputies and their wives was served in the newly extended and refurbished Community Centre.
Everyone enjoyed the relaxed afternoon despite being one of the big annual occasions for the Chairman and the Board of Deputies.
